The Rogue Valley Transportation District is considering expanding its bus services in Medford and Ashland overnight and at weekends. Steve Best explains why…
RVTD has made the expansion proposal in response to recent surges in school enrollment and changes in employment patterns in the Rogue Valley.
the RVTD board of directors has met this week to consider the idea, and has received a grant of just under a million dollars to help with the estimated 2 million dollar cost of the changes.
There are plans to increase services at night to accommodate the additional students attending night classes at Rogue Community College and SOU, and workers whose businesses are staying open later in the evenings.
In addition, Saturday routes are being added as more employees work Tuesday through Saturday shifts.
